What We Do
At Empowering Connections, we believe strong families and thriving communities begin with meaningful relationships and practical support. We are a nonprofit organization based in North Carolina dedicated to uplifting young parents, youth, and families through research-driven programs, mentorship, and community training.

Empowering Young Mothers - Our flagship initiative, funded by RTI International, engages pregnant and parenting youth in evidence-based research and relationship education that builds confidence, strengthens family bonds, and helps young parents create brighter futures for themselves and their children.

Youth Mentorship & Life Skills – We connect teens with caring mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and practical skills to help them navigate school, work, and life with resilience.

Community & Professional Development – We provide workshops and training for nonprofits, educators, and local businesses on supporting young families, fostering healthy relationships, and creating inclusive, trauma-informed environments.

Future Parenting Support – As funding grows, we are preparing to offer parenting classes and additional resources that empower families at every stage.

Programs in this branch focus on building resilience, fostering belonging, and strengthening rural communities. With support from the Duke Energy Foundation, we help communities connect across differences, share resources, and grow stronger together.
Family Life
Centered on supporting youth and parents, especially young mothers, this branch includes initiatives like Safe Dates. We guide individuals in developing healthy relationships, strong parenting practices, and confidence in their personal and family journeys.
